We had our first campout this weekend. This means I got no sleep, lost 8 tug lines, and had one loose dog. First campouts are generally not very relaxing because the dogs aren't into the routine yet and, because they're still hooked up to the line when we stop, don't understand that they're done pulling for the day. But what I was surprised about was how rambunctious the dogs from last year's race team were -- they ran over 2,500 miles last year, and had a whole lot of campouts "under their belt", but, nevertheless, they weren't too interested in sleeping this weekend.
You can see a photo of the non-resting team, albeit a dark one, in the 'Training 2006/2007' photos section.
